Based in St. Louis, Sam Fentress has been photographing architecture and interiors since 1982. Raised in Nashville and Detroit, he graduated from Princeton University and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute of Chicago.
His work documenting the built environment in St. Louis and beyond has been published in over 100 magazines worldwide. He has photographed in 49 states, Spain, India, Saudia Arabia, and China.
With Osmund Overby he is the co-author of William Adair Bernoudy, Bringing the Legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright to St. Louis, published by the University of Missouri Press in 1999, with a foreword by Gyo Obata.
